Hundreds of engineering students of Pune University are adamant on demanding postponement of exams. Second year engineering students claim that they have got only 4 days to prepare between in-sem and end-sem, second semester exams. Hundreds of students protested outside the Pune University main building demanding the postponement of the exams.
This protest is happening when less than 48 days are left for the exam. However, the registrar has assured that the university will convene an immediate meeting and try to find an amicable solution. The protesting students are adamant that they will continue the sit-in till the decision is taken.
University registrar Prafulla Pawar also reached to meet the protesting students. He said, ‘We have taken cognizance of the issues of the students. We will try and take a decision as soon as possible. Around 700 affiliated colleges, of which 160 are engineering colleges of the University of Pune, with around 75,000 students are affected. A decision will be taken soon.
