As of Sunday morning, Balen Shah, an independent mayoral candidate for Kathmandu Metropolis, was still leading the vote count.
So far, he has collected 1,587 votes.
His closest rival, Keshav Sthapit of the CPN-UML, has received 887 votes so far.
Similarly, Nepali Congress mayoral candidate Sirjana Singh has received 822 votes thus far.
The counting of votes has begun.
