Balen Shah, the independent mayoral candidate for Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), has maintained his advantage over the alliance candidate.
Shah has 45,613 votes, according to the latest vote count updates as of 10:15 a.m. Sirjana Singh, his candidate for the Nepali Congress (NC), received 27,183 votes.
Keshav Sthapit of the CPN-UML is also trailing with 26,309 votes.
Sunita Dangol of the UML is well ahead of Rameshwor Shrestha of the CPN (Unified Socialist) in the race for deputy mayor.
On May 13, local elections were held.
