In Noida, UP, adjacent to Delhi, the gang cheating the students who failed in NEET exam in the name of admission in government MBBS college has been busted.
Noida Police Station Sector 63 has busted a gang who used to cheat lakhs of students in the name of getting admission in MBBS college to students who failed in NEET exam conducted for admission in medical college.
Police has arrested three members of this gang, along with recovered Rs 19 lakh cash and jewelery worth Rs 10 lakh from their possession. According to the information, this gang used to target the students who failed in 2022 by opening an office in Sector 63 police station area.
The gang members used to call failed students and claim to get admission in government college for MBBS, for which they used to charge Rs 15-25 lakhs. He used to take jewelery from those who could not pay. After that, they used to make a fake letter of the medical college and give it to the student.
When the students reached the college and their names were not there, they felt cheated. About 27 such students had given a complaint of cheating to the Police Station Sector 63. After which the police traced and arrested them.
These three accused friends were living a luxurious life with the money of fraud. The accused lived in expensive hotels and used to travel in expensive vehicles. Police has recovered Rs 19 lakh cash and jewelery worth about 10 lakh from their possession.
In the investigation, the police have come to know that till now these people have executed the incident of cheating with 35 people. The police is engaged in finding out about more incidents. Cases have been registered against them many times in different states. This time their target was the students who failed in 2022 NEET exam.
Giving information about this gang, Additional DCP (Central) Vishal Pandey said that three people have been arrested on charges of cheating in the name of getting admission in MBBS college. They used to cheat of Rs 15-20 lakh in the name of getting admission. The accused were arrested and sent to jail and action is being taken against them under the Gangster Act.
