Gorkha jeep accident: The identity of three victims killed in a jeep accident in Gorkha has been revealed.
According to DSP Leela Raj Lamichhane of the District Police Office in Gorkha, the deceased are Devi Prasad Pokharel, 50, of Barpak Sulikot rural municipality-5, Uttar Kumar Sigdel, 80, of ward no. 14, and Padam Neupane, 45, of Kathmandu Metropolitan City -16.
On Monday evening, an ill-fated jeep, Ba 14 Cha 781, carrying people from Gorka, crashed from the Phirphire cliff near Barpak Siranchowk rural municipality-4, Arubote.
The jeep was heading back to Chitwan after dropping off wedding guests in Gorkha.
According to DSP Lamichhane, the vehicle with three people on board slid backward while the driver was assisting the remaining two passengers to board.
The bodies have been transferred to Gorkha Hospital for postmortem examination.
Meanwhile, police have arrested and are investigating jeep driver Ghanashyam Lamichhane of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-18, Dharmapuri.
