The process of recall in Maruti Suzuki’s camp is not taking the name of stopping. Recently Maruti Suzuki launched its mid-size SUV Grand Vitara in the domestic market. In the past, some technical flaws were found in this SUV, after which the company had recalled some of its units. Now once again Maruti Suzuki has recalled 11,177 units of this SUV.
According to the information, the units of Maruti Grand Vitara that were manufactured between August 8, 2022 and November 15, 2022 are included in this recall. Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has said in a regulatory filing that the affected lots have been recalled to correct a possible defect in the rear seat belt mounting brackets. Earlier too, it had recalled its vehicles due to defects in seat-belts and airbags.
The carmaker says that, it is suspected that there is some issue with the rear seat belt mounting bracket due to which it may have come loose. In such an emergency, it is possible that it may not work properly. Affected Grand Vitara owners will be personally contacted by authorized Maruti Suzuki dealerships. So that this problem can be rectified by checking the vehicles as soon as possible.
The company will not charge any fee for the inspection and repair of the vehicles included in this recall. Vehicle owners will be contacted by the dealership through phone, message or email. You can contact your dealership if you suspect that your Grand Vitara is also a part of the recall. Earlier last week, the company had recalled 17,362 units of models like Alto K10, Brezza, S-Presso, Eeco, Grand Vitara and Baleno. The previous recall included those manufactured between December 8, 2022 and January 12, 2023.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
CNG variant of Grand Vitara launched:
Recently Maruti Suzuki has also launched this SUV in CNG variant. In the new Maruti Grand Vitara CNG, the company has used a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which generates 103bhp power and 136Nm torque. Whereas in CNG mode, its power output drops slightly, and in CNG mode this engine generates 87bhp power and 121.5Nm torque. Only 5-speed manual transmission engine option is available in this SUV.
The new Grand Vitara is available for sale in petrol engine as well as hybrid variant. The company claims that its mild-hybrid variant gives mileage of 19 to 21 kmpl and strong hybrid variant up to 27.97kmpl. On the other hand, regarding the CNG variant, the company says that this SUV gives a mileage of up to 26.6km/kg. The price of this SUV starts from Rs 10.45 lakh, while the price of CNG variant has been fixed at Rs 12.85 lakh.
