'...if RAW-IB officers will think twice', why did Kiren Rijiju tell the Supreme Court Collegium - Law Minister Kiren Rijiju on raw report made public by Supreme Court Collegium ntc

Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju has said that it is a matter of serious concern that the Supreme Court Collegium has released some selected reports of intelligence agencies on a public platform. Kiren Rijiju said that intelligence agencies work secretly for the country and if their reports are made public then the officers working in the intelligence service will think twice in future.

The Union Minister was referring to some recent reports of the Supreme Court Collegium, in which the IB and RAW reports were made public last week by the Collegium on some of the names recommended for appointment as High Court judges.

Let us tell you that on January 19, the Supreme Court Collegium, headed by the Chief Justice, once again sent its report to the government to appoint five lawyers as high court judges.

During this, the reports of IB and RAW on the appointment of some lawyers as judges were made public by the collegium. One of these cases is related to the appointment of senior advocate Saurabh Kirpal as a High Court judge. In the collegium’s report, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) has raised two objections to the recommendation to clear the name of advocate Saurabh Kirpal.

These two objections have been made public. The first objection was that the partner of lawyer Saurabh Kirpal is a Swiss citizen. The second objection is his openness about sexual orientation. Please tell that lawyer Saurabh Kirpal is gay. Responding to these allegations, the Supreme Court Collegium sent his name to the government for appointment as a judge.

Law Minister Kiren Rijiju has now said that making the reports of intelligence agencies public is a matter of grave concern. He said that the officers of the intelligence agencies work secretly and if this happens then the officers of the intelligence agencies will think twice. Rijiju said that keeping sensitive or secret reports of RAW and IB in the public domain is a matter of grave concern to which I will respond at an appropriate time. He said that today is not the right time for this.
