Janga Bahadur Tamang, a member of the Nepali Congress, has been elected president of the NC Sindhupalchowk District Working Committee.
Janga Bahadur was elected president by a margin of 64 votes over his opponent Bansha Lal Tamang.
Janga Bahadur received 912 votes in the NC district convention election on Sunday, while his nearest rival Bansha Lal received 848 votes.
The election received a total of 1,783 votes. Janga Bahadur Tamang is a member of the establishment, whilst Bansha Lal has the support of the Dr. Shekhar Koirala panel.
Prem Dhwaj Lama, who finished third in the first round of voting, backed Janga Bahadur.
