New Delhi: On the eve of Republic Day, Indian soldiers deployed in defense of the country were announced different awards for their bravery and distinguished service. Major Subhang and Naik Jitendra Singh, two soldiers of the Indian Army, will be awarded the Kirti Chakra. Seven bravehearts of the army will be awarded with the Shaurya Chakra, in which two Shaurya Chakras will be posthumous. Kirti Chakra will be given to Major Subhag of the Dogra Regiment. In April 2022, a cordon was imposed under the leadership of Major Subhang in Budgaon district of Jammu and Kashmir after suspicious activity was observed. He challenged the terrorists from a distance of ten meters. The terrorists started firing in which Major was injured, but he still went near the terrorist and killed him. The second terrorist ran away and hid in a house and the Major eliminated him there as well. Major Subhang also rescued two injured comrades along with him. Naik Jitendra Singh of the Rajput Regiment has also been selected for the Kirta Chakra. He has killed seven terrorists in three different operations since December 2021.

Shaurya Chakra to seven heroes
Seven names have been announced for the Shaurya Chakra, out of which Naik Jasbir Singh and Constable Mudasir Ahmed Sheikh will be given it posthumously. Major Aditya Bhadauria of 50-RR, Capt Arun Kumar of 13-RR, Capt Yudhveer Singh of 9-RR, Capt Rakesh TR of 9-Para SF, Lance Naik Vikas Choudhary of 3-RR were also announced for Shaurya Chakra. Is. Along with this, 93 bravehearts will be given Sena Medal (Gallantry), of which four are posthumous.

8 Yudh Seva Medals, 19 Param Vishisht Seva Medals, 33 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, 81 Vishisht Seva Medals, 3 Uttam Yudh Seva Medals, 55 Mention in Dispatches (three posthumously) have also been announced. Out of this, 27 are related to Operation Rakshak and 13 to Operation Snow Leopard.

Navy medal for Commander Nishant who saved the life of trainee pilot
Commander Nishant in the Navy will be awarded the Nau Sena Medal (Gallantry) posthumously. Commander Nishant Singh was the most experienced pilot of fighter aircraft MiG-29. On 26 November 2020, his MiG-677 took off with a trainee pilot during Malabar Exercise, but suddenly his aircraft started falling down. He did whatever was possible to control the aircraft and in the end made the ultimate sacrifice saving the life of the trainee pilot. In the Navy, 3 Param Vishisht Seva Medals, 7 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, 16 Vishisht Seva Medals, 13 Nau Sena Medals (Devotion to Duty) have also been announced. Similarly, 5 officers of Indian Air Force will be awarded with Shaurya Chakra, 7 with Vayu Sena Medal (Gallantry).
