A big accident took place in UP’s capital Lucknow on Tuesday evening. A five-storey building on Wazir Hasan Road collapsed. There is a possibility of 30 to 35 people being buried in the debris. While 11 people have been safely evacuated. The information of the accident was given to the police and fire brigade team. Along with this, Deputy CM Brijesh Pathak has also reached the spot. It is being told that this accident happened due to earthquake. Actually, on this day earthquake tremors were felt from Nepal to India. This accident happened in Lucknow just a few hours after this natural disaster.

Talking to Aaj Tak, Deputy CM Brijesh Pathak told that 11 people have been evacuated safely. At present there has been no casualty. The building had suddenly collapsed. There are teams of NDRF, Police and Fire Brigade on the spot. We are trying to save people safely.

At the same time, in an official statement, it has been said that CM Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the accident and instructed to send NDRF and SDRF teams on the spot. CM Yogi has instructed the officials of the district administration to make arrangements for better treatment of the injured, and also said that they should make arrangements to take the injured to the hospital immediately. CM has also instructed many hospitals to be on alert.

Team of 45 jawans engaged in rescue

It has been said in the official statement that the CM has wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. Along with this, the District Magistrate and senior police officers, teams of SDRF and NDRF have been instructed to do relief work. Along with this, instructions have been given to many hospitals to remain alert. An additional team of NDRF has also reached the spot, in which 45 jawans are engaged in relief and rescue work.

About 15 families lived in the five-storey building. It is being told that the family of Samajwadi Party spokesperson and leader Shahid Manzoor also lived in this building. When the building collapsed, SP leader Abbas Haider’s father and Congress leader Amir Haider and his wife were also present in the building. Along with this, there has also been a crack in the adjacent building.

30 to 35 people feared trapped in the building

DGP DS Chauhan said that at the time when the building collapsed, 8 families were inside the building. 5 people have been evacuated safely. Around 30-35 people are likely to be inside. Rescue operation is going on on a war footing.

‘Our full focus on rescue’

The police officer told that whatever situation is being created so far, it seems that this accident happened due to earthquake. He said that our entire focus is towards rescue. Saving people is our priority. Rest of the action will be done later.
