Man United vs Brentford

Man United vs Brentford: Premier League match between Man United and Brentford is taking place on Tuesday, May 3 at 00:45 AM Nepali time.

Manchester United will try to end their three-game losing streak when they host Brentford on Monday.
Manchester United’s chances of finishing in the Champions League are all but dead after a record of just one win in their previous five league games. With three games remaining in the season, the Red Devils trail fourth-placed Arsenal by eight points, with the Gunners even having a game in hand.

Despite a number of high-profile arrivals last summer, Manchester United’s season has been marred by mediocrity and inconsistency. After finishing second in the Premier League last season, they have been unable to reproduce their great defensive record this season, with only Newcastle United conceding more goals than Man United in the top half of the table.

The offensive has also been far too reliant on Cristiano Ronaldo, resulting in a lack of consistency from a team coming off a 1-1 tie with Chelsea. Ralf Rangnick’s men will have the opportunity to correct the wrongs and at the very least push for a Europa League finish when they host Brentford on Monday.

It’s a must-win game for the hosts if they want to finish above West Ham in the league table, but it won’t be easy against a tenacious Brentford side that has been in fantastic form recently.

The freshly promoted team has won three of their last four games. Thomas Frank’s players are not technically guaranteed survival just yet, but a solid result against Manchester United might help them push further up the league table and compete with the likes of Leicester City and Newcastle United.

Tactics & Team News

Manchester United may be forced to play without star player Jadon Sancho due to tonsillitis. Rangnick, on the other hand, is expecting to have Fred back in action, while Edinson Cavani, Harry Maguire, and Jesse Lingard might all be in contention to play against Brentford if necessary.

With Sancho unlikely to play for the rest of the season, Rangnick may be able to give starting spots to veteran Juan Mata and youth prospect Anthony Elanga, with Marcus Rashford serving as a potential backup.

Bruno Fernandes, as usual, will play in the number 10 position, providing creative support to his countrymen Cristiano Ronaldo up top. Meanwhile, Rangnick may be forced to provide some minutes to other young players on the team, such as Alejandro Garnacho and Hannibal Mejbri.

Fred’s return to midfield remains a significant probability. The Brazilian might re-join his midfield partnership with Scott McTominay, with the two seeking to provide calm and control in the center of the pitch.

In defense, Victor Lindelof could get the nod again ahead of Harry Maguire, combining with Raphael Varane in central defense. Diogo Dalot and Alex Telles remain the favorites to fill the full-back positions, but Alvaro Fernandez offers an intriguing left-back alternative to Telles.
