The All-Nepal Asteroid Search Campaign is a program that offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for people to discover their asteroids and names in person! Yes, NASO supplies actual data, and your finding, if any, will be real! To assist people in discovering more asteroids, NASO has provided specific training courses for those who are interested in learning the procedure so that they have a better chance of discovering asteroids when participating in campaigns. The asteroid search program is divided into three parts: training, campaign, and mentorship.
Asteroid Search Training
NASO holds asteroid search training sessions once a month at a low cost to assist teams in searching effectively. These training sessions allow students from each team to receive peer guidance from members of NASO’s team, allowing them to work more efficiently. The money earned from the training sessions goes toward NASO’s outreach efforts in Nepal.
So far, NASO has successfully trained participants from India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Brunei, and the United Arab Emirates in the asteroid search campaign and the International Asteroid Search Campaign, and they’ve done a fantastic job searching for asteroids. Once qualified, NASO invites trained volunteers to apply for All-Nepal Asteroid Search Campaign, International Asteroid Search Campaign, or your country’s asteroid search program to find new asteroids!
