The Nepal Army is commemorating Army Day today with a series of events across the country.
Today, President Bidya Devi Bhandari will be the chief guest at a special function being held at Sainik Manch Tundikhel to commemorate Shivaratri and Army Day.
President Bhandari serves as the Army’s Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
For two decades, the Nepal Army has observed Mahashivaratri as Army Day.
Throughout history, the NA has frequently been socialized through religion and culture. The Nepal Army’s logo, which incorporates a trident and damaru, a musical instrument, further emphasizes the synthesis of religion and philosophy.
Numerous army barracks and companies have been named after Gods and Goddesses dating all the way back to ancient times. Goddess temples have been built on the grounds of numerous army barracks.
Almost every day, the NA offers prayers and worship in the temple, for which a budget is set aside.
On this occasion, the Sainik Manch will host a variety of cultural events, including a parade, an artillery display, and a drill.
This year, a band display from the British Army’s Gorkha Brigade will take place.
