The Nepal government is planning to establish government medical colleges in each of the seven provinces.
According to the Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Devendra Poudel, a proposal to open medical colleges has been submitted to the Council of Ministers.
According to Minister Poudel, a proposal has been submitted to this effect, arguing that billions of rupees are being spent on medical studies abroad.
According to a report submitted by the Ministry of Education, Nepali students pursuing medical education in Japan, Australia, Bangladesh, China, and India spend approximately Rs 197 billion per year.
As a result, the ministry has stated that medical colleges must be established in all seven provinces in order to keep the money in the country.
Minister Poudel went on to say that the government is planning to make education vocational from elementary school to college level in order to reduce the rate of existing unemployment.
