The Nepalese government aims to deploy 10,000 nurses to the UK.
The Ministry of Employment and Social Security has declined to divulge the amount of nursing personnel who would be sent to the impacted districts.
Following cabinet clearance, Rajiv Pokharel, chairman of the ministry’s employment management section, said the criteria for nurses flying to the UK would be publicized.
The Nursing Association of Nepal‘s president, Mankumari Rai, said she’d heard that the UK is recruiting 10,000 new staff nurses.
According to Rajiv Pokharel, only 150 of the 10,000 nurses needed by the British government have been hired thus far.
Prior to sending additional staff, Pokharel noted that all elements, including salary incentives for those in the first phase, would be evaluated.
It is anticipated that 598 specialists, 67,316 nurses, and 28 midwives have been enrolled in the Nepal Nursing Council as of this writing, with an additional 845 overseas nurses registered.
