The Pakistan Cricket Board has taken a big decision on Monday (January 23). The new Chief Selector has been announced by PCB and former cricketer Haroon Rashid has been entrusted with this responsibility. PCB has removed veteran player Shahid Afridi from the post of interim chief selector.
Earlier there were speculations that only Shahid Afridi could be allowed to continue as the Chief Selector and his tenure could be extended. But the PCB did not do so and handed over this responsibility to 69-year-old Haroon Rashid.
PCB Chief Najam Sethi announced this on Monday, the names of the remaining members of the selection committee will be announced later. If we talk about Haroon Rashid, he has played 23 Test matches, 12 ODIs for Pakistan. He was a part of the Pakistani team from 1977 to 1983.

Haroon Rashid has also held the post of PCB Director, Team Manager of Pakistan before this. Right now he was a part of the management committee of PCB. But now he has to leave this post.
Please tell that Rameez Raja was removed from the post of PCB chief some time ago. Only after that there has been a stir in the Pakistan Cricket Board. Earlier, Shahid Afridi was made the chief selector in chaos, but now he too has been removed.
Shahid Afridi had made many such decisions in his short tenure, due to which there was a ruckus. Shahid Afridi had said that only those batsmen should get a place in the T20 team, whose strike rate is more than 135. Questions were also raised on this because the slow batting of senior players like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan is always on target.
