Various artists and personalities have received the National Cinema Prize, Special Cinema Prize, and Lifetime Award from President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
On Sunday, the President handed out the prizes and awards at a presentation hosted by the Film Development Board at the Presidential House.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari applauded the Board’s efforts for the development and success of the film industry, saying that it was everyone’s responsibility to recognize individuals for their services to the nation through cinemas.
The Lifetime Award was given to actress Bhuwan Thapa and singer Shambu Jeet Baskota for the years 2076 BS and 2077 BS, respectively. Each of Thapa and Baskota was given Rs 351,000.
The best film shooting went to Hari Humagain, and the best editing went to Nimesh Shrestha and Surendra Poudel. Similarly, the film ‘Pache Gore’ was chosen as the winner in the indigenous category.
