If Rohan Bopanna had won the final match, it would have been the second Grand Slam title of his career. Earlier in the year 2017, Bopanna teamed up with Gabriela Dabrowski and achieved success in the mixed doubles event at the French Open. Then Bopanna-Dabrowski defeated the Colombian pair of Robert Farah and Ana Lina Grönfeld (Germany) 2-6, 6-2, 12-10 in the title match.
