There are many such things on our earth, which we do not understand the importance of and they are decreasing with time. When man reached power i.e. electricity from lamp and torch, then no one had thought that it would be misused like this. Now there is shortage of electricity in many countries of the world but people are not ready to reduce its use. Britain’s National Grid has taken out a unique offer to tell people the importance of electricity and to teach them how to use it economically.
According to the report of Daily Star, under this offer, if customers sit in the dark for an hour, they will be given thousands of rupees in return. This offer is being given to the people under the Demand Flexibility Service. The cost of living in UK has increased tremendously. In such a situation, National Grid is running a live event of its Demand Flexibility Service.
The objective of this scheme is to motivate people across the country to reduce electricity consumption. Those who sign up for this are getting the opportunity to make savings. They just have to stop using their electricity for a certain time in peak usage hours.
People have to participate in the live event
The National Grid ESO website states, ‘If you have signed up to take part in the DFS scheme, your electricity supplier will contact you before the demonstration test or live event. He will ask you about participating in the event to be held on that day. Announcing the approval of the scheme, ESO’s Executive Director said: ‘We are delighted that our demand flexibility service has been approved for use this winter’
