When Sindhu Reddy passed 12th, she wanted to join NDA i.e. National Defense Academy and through this wanted to be a part of India’s Armed Forces. Sindhu told her dream to her father and father also appreciated her daughter’s dream. According to Sindhu Reddy, father said do whatever you want to do, I am with you. But father did not tell Sindhu that girls cannot go in NDA, only boys can take admission there. He wanted Sindhu to do her homework and find out. When Sindhu found out the details to fill its form, it was found that it was not for girls. Sindhu was disappointed but determined to fulfill her dream. Sindhu did engineering and then became a part of the Indian Airforce. Sindhu Reddy is today a helicopter pilot in the Airforce and has also been deployed in the Northern and Eastern borders. Squadron Leader Sindhu Reddy will lead the Air Force contingent in the Republic Day Parade. Sindhu Reddy, a resident of Karnataka, says that this was my childhood dream. My father also had this dream and now I am fulfilling it, so I feel very proud. Sindhu says that there is no distinction between men and women in the Air Force. Airforce gives equal opportunity to all. I want people to take home the message that nothing is impossible when they see me leading the marching contingent of the Air Force on duty. Dream big and work hard on them, they will surely come true. Indian Airforce has women in all branches and if someone tells girls that this is mail domain, then tell them that this is everyone’s domain and as much as the country is ours, the Airforce is also ours.
